چکیده

Introduction. The production potential of grain amaranth has recently been demonstrated in northeastern Patagonia, Argentina. This crop under irrigation and a temperate semi-arid climate showed an adequate development the plants their different phenological stages with high economic performance. Objectives. study explored response Amaranthus cruentus cv Mexicano to frequencies lower valley Río Negro river, Method. experimental design was three blocks randomized treatments (subplots), each one corresponding frequency. first six irrigations were performed every 7 days for all treatments, ensure establishment crop. Then following applied: (FI), 14 (FII), 21 (FIII). biometric variables components measured: height plant, number leaves, biomass yield. Results. results suggest that optimum frequency FII (14 days), resulting plant stand at panicle initiation allows proper optimal biological economical yields highest efficiency water use (4.02 kg·m-3). Conclusions. contributions this A. river irrigation, representing southernmost on made world. A management then yield best efficiency.

Cold-Adapted Yeasts from Patagonia Argentina

The Patagonian Andes possess a great variety of glaciers, large temperate ice masses, and glacially formed water bodies. Most of these environments are included in protected areas characterized by low anthropogenic impact and minimal atmospheric pollution. Studies on occurrence of psychrotolerant (cold-adapted) and psychrophilic yeasts in these natural environments have allowed the characteriza...

Eimeriid oocysts from archaeological samples in Patagonia, Argentina.

Oocysts attributable to E. macusaniensis Guerrero et al. 1971, were found in coprolites and in archaeological sediments dating to the Holocene of Patagonia, Argentina. By means of a non-parametric regression using a generalized additive model, a significant relationship was found between the size of the oocysts and their antiquity. Specifically, a reduction in oocyst size over time was discover...

Late Cretaceous Aquatic Plant World in Patagonia, Argentina

In this contribution, we describe latest Cretaceous aquatic plant communities from the La Colonia Formation, Patagonia, Argentina, based on their taxonomic components and paleoecological attributes. The La Colonia Formation is a geological unit deposited during a Maastrichtian-Danian transgressive episode of the South Atlantic Ocean. This event resulted in the deposition of a series of fine-gra...
